About
me
One of my favorite things in design is drawing inspiration from the exterior. Our home overlooks a pasture of highland cows and horses. With this very ranch-like view I knew much of the interior, especially the main spaces, needed to be fairly masculine--a weathered leather couch, exposed beams, and a salvaged spiral staircase from an industrial warehouse felt perfect in the downstairs.
Next, is respecting the history of the space or the land. When my grandfather bought our farm, he cultivated tobacco like many do in our region. Although we are now a flower farm, I wanted a little piece of his memory where I could see it. So we used original tobacco sticks and added pegs to hang knotted linen curtains in the living room and girls’ bedroom.
A few more signature favorites are florals (surprise!), mixing old and new, anything oversized, cozy layers, and lots of texture.
Once I’ve spent time in a space, the ideas usually flow quickly. In the case that they don’t, I will always seek outdoors and continue to find (as with my floral designs) the answer is in the garden.

Redesigned Reception Hall
Updated newly constructed reception hall to include fully shiplapped room and remove unused stage.
For this venue, listening to their client feedback was important when implementing design changes to add texture to the space with shiplapped walls and celings in order to make the space feel finished and less sterile.
Barn Restoration Project
This old stable was redesigned to become additional ceremony & reception space with bridal room and spa room
I enjoy the challenge of transforming a space. I love unexpected elements and high functionality.
